Teaching Resources

Hello teachers and librarians,

The Brisbane Libraries Exhibition starts in February 2017. Please check back here for venues.

To help you integrate the exhibition into your school programme we have a Teaching Unit with before, during and after visiting exhibition activities.

While at the Anzac Stories: Behind the Pages Exhibition students can use a Scavenger Hunt activity to investigate the exhibits more closely.

Behind the Pages Exhibition coming soon

Welcome to the ANZAC Stories Behind the Pages Exhibition blog. We're planning to showcase Australian and New Zealand children's war books and the stories behind their creation in exhibitions throughout Australia in 2017 - 2018.

'What Lies Beneath' Exhibition in Auckland
A similar exhibition has been shown in New Zealand libraries from April 2016 to April 2017. Have a look at the exhibits that were in Auckland, Queenstown, Palmerston North and Whangarei on this blog.

The purpose of the ANZAC Stories Behind the Pages Exhibition is to reveal what inspired the authors and illustrators while creating the children's war book. They'll also share their research process and illustrators will show some of their roughs.

On this blog we'll include the authors and illustrators' biographies, interviews, and a synopsis of their book in the exhibition. We'll also attach any activities or lesson plans they have made (or their publisher has made) for their book.

We will keep you informed of our progress. Please sign up to our email so you don't miss out on information.
